Sunday night marks the 78th Golden Globe Awards, and with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting yet again, it's bound to be one helluva show — especially since they're hosting from opposite coasts for the first time ever. Of course, we here at Allure are most excited about their beauty looks, so we caught up with makeup artists Molly R. Stern and Gita Bass to learn more about their inspiration, the execution of each look, and of course, all the products they used to make the magic happen.
Both artists started by prepping the actors' complexions using the Pause Well-Aging Fascia Stimulating Tool, which helps to plump and firm the skin. For their red carpet looks, both actors opted for fairly minimal makeup, with subtle black liner to define their eyes, dewy, glowing skin and some blush, and a soft nude-pink lip.
"For a flawless complexion, I applied a few drops of the Beautycounter Featherweight Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation in Light 230 and Medium 310, and then added Skin Twin Creamy Concealer in Light 2 where needed," says Bass of Fey's face makeup. "Then, to add warmth to the skin, I swirled the Radiant All Over Bronzer in Surf where the sun would naturally hit, and then layered Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Hibiscus on to the apples of the cheeks."

On her brows, Bass used the brand's Color Define Brow Pencil in Medium to give a full, bushy effect. "To create a smoky eye [on Fey], I lined her upper and lower lash lines with the Color Outline Pencil in Violet and smudged it with a soft brush," says Bass. "I then layered a bronze eye shadow onto the lid and smudged a dark plum shadow over the liner for a smoky effect, and for award-winning lashes, I applied a few coats of Volumizing mascara and then added LoveSeen lashes in Inez."

Finally, Bass gave Fey a rosy nude lip with Beautycounter's Color Intense Lipstick in Brunch and layered Beyond Gloss in Peony on top.
Stern spent a fair share of time prepping Poehler's skin with products from Natura Bisse. " I have found that the more I give in the beginning with luxurious products, tool stimulation, and massage, the better the skin looks," she was. "I love seeing the women wearing the makeup, not the makeup wearing the woman."
After skin care, Stern primed Poehler's skin with the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer and followed with the brand's Luminous Silk Foundation in shade three. To create a natural-looking flush on her cheeks, she used Jamie Makeup Cream Blushes in The Nude One and The Coral One. She then lightly contoured with Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Glow Setting Powder in shade nine.

Funnily enough, both stars went for similar hairstyles as well: loose, voluminous waves with lots of shine. However, it's worth noting that Poehler went for a middle part, while Fey went for a side part, which ultimately makes them look completely different.
For Amy's second look of the night, she went for a half-up style and added a choker for a little extra flair, while Fey wore her hair up in a chic low chignon to complement the neckline of her dress.
"The second dress had some gorgeous flowers on it and felt a little more romantic so I added a bright berry lip using Beauty Counter's Intense Lipstick in Little Black Dress with a drop of Beyond Gloss in Dahlia over the top," says Bass of her inspiration for Fey's look.
As for their third looks of the night, Fey wore a glitzy gold eye and amped up her lip a smidge, and Poehler wore pink lipstick and a faux lob style.
"This gold Tom Brown sequined blazer was a real show stopper and allowed me to have a little more," says Bass. "I added some gold shadow and applied a warmer red using Beautycounter's Color Intense Lipstick in Girl's Night Out, but kept it super sheer by blotting it down so it didn't compete with the shine of the sequins."
