Eriksen, 29, suffered a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s opening game against Finland. A hushed crowd in Copenhagen watched as stunned teammates surrounded him and medics used a defibrillator.
An emotional Eriksen reflected on the incident in an interview with Danish broadcaster DR 1.
The former Inter Milan star said: “It was amazing that so many people felt a need to write or send flowers.
“It was weird, because I didn’t expect people to send flowers because I’d died for five minutes.”
He said the public’s response “makes me very happy”.
The star has now been fitted with a special device that he hopes will enable him to return to playing.
