After suffering a dangerous fall and a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis within a year of each other, Ozzy Osbourne, 72, is set to undergo surgery to correct neck and spine injuries and hopefully return to the stage, his wife Sharon Osbourne, 68, shared with the Daily Mail on Tuesday.
“It was like that one after the other and it’s like, woah, just a minute, you know?” Osbourne told the Mail. “It breaks your heart that he wants to get back. He misses his friends, his musicians, they’re his partners. He misses that life.”
However Osbourne expressed hopefulness about her husband’s eventual return to performing. “The thing I’m most excited about is my hubby getting back on stage,” she added. “That’s what I pray for.”
The Black Sabbath frontman previously told the Daily Mail that he felt like he was “dying,” after his 2019 fall resulting in a broken neck and multiple rescheduled tour dates.
“There was a point I was convinced that I was dying,” the rocker told the Daily Mail in August 2020. “I was in that much discomfort and pain and misery. I thought [my family] were all hiding it from me.”
As far as Ozzy’s Parkinson’s Disease, an incurable progressive nerve disorder he was diagnosed with in 2020, “He’s fine. He’s fine, he’s got it under control,” Sharon remarked.
Sharon also shared struggles regarding her family’s bouts of health issues, including her colon cancer, preventive double mastectomy for breast cancer, and her son Jack’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2012.
“Our family have never been a family where there’s been great health,” Osbourne added. “This isn’t a pity party, but we’re kind of used to dealing with major health problems.”
