The Chillest CBD Gifts for Your Cannabis-Loving Friends

If there’s one health and wellness trend that blew up in the late-2010s and held on through this year, it’s CBD-infused everything. While the potential benefits of cannabidiol (which we all just call CBD) are still being studied — and there’s no clear consensus on the best use of the compound — advocates for products with CBD tout it as an anti-inflammatory and a mood stabilizer, and it has been used by people with a range of different conditions (from epilepsy to menstrual pain) with varying results.

CBD is a compound that’s one of the main constituents of cannabis, while having limited or no psychoactive effects. That means it’s allegedly giving the same benefits as cannabis — but without the high (which comes from tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC). As previously reported, there’s just one FDA-approved drug containing CBD that’s used for treating two rare and severe forms of epilepsy, but otherwise there’s still a lot of developing research about how CBD can and should be used.

All of this to say: CBD in the wellness space still requires a bit more attention and study before it can totally transcend the realm of snake oil cure-alls (and, obviously, never take promises of snake oil cure-all type products at face value; do your research as a consumer about each product you put near, in or around your body because they are all different!)

And one last worry-wart note: Be smart when introducing new products into your healthcare/treatment plans — and, if you have a mix of medicines and other health situations you are navigating, don’t try anything wild or out-there without first consulting a medical professional. Don’t disrupt another treatment plan without having a conversation about it!

But, for people who have found that high quality CBD products work for them — or if you just like them — the market is chock full of things for your face, skin, hair and body that’ll delight and satisfy any cannabidiol fan. Read on for a few sweet CBD gifts for the holiday season.
