Coronavirus: Woman explains day-by-day symptoms of COVID-19 – ‘literal fire in my lungs’

Coronavirus is an infectious disease which has been confirmed in more than one million individuals across the world. Cases are continuing to rise in the UK, and the government has urged the public to stay at home, to avoid becoming infected or spreading the virus further.

One woman has given the fine details of her coronavirus symptoms, after testing positive for the infection.

Jessica Cain, from Austin, Texas, has explained how her symptoms developed over a 23-day period, and exactly when she started to feel on-the-mend.

She first started developing coronavirus signs in the middle of March. A high fever and a “slight burn” during exercise was Cain’s first symptom.

Within nine days, she started showing all of the common symptoms of COVID-19.

She had terrible nausea and abdominal cramps after three days, while also maintaining her fever.

Over the next few days, she became very fatigued, and had a painful cough.

While the cough was simply “annoying” at first, the heaviness and burning in her chest intensified, she explained.

She also started losing her breath when she was having conversations, and couldn’t take deep breaths.

By Day 10, Cain had terrible headaches, and developed a pain in her nasal cavity, which described as like eating spoonfuls of wasabi.

But, by Day 12, she finally lost her fever, and she started to feel some kind of relief.

Cain urged the public to stay at home, after admitting that she was taking the advice lightly.

She said that she was comparatively lucky compared with those that have sadly lost their lives to the coronavirus.

“I’m really grateful for going through this experience, because I was kind of taking it light, thinking that I’m just invincible,” she said on Instagram.

“Now, I can really understand and support the seriousness of just staying home, and not spreading this.

“It truly affects every person differently, and I consider myself to be very lucky to have it only last a couple of weeks, and some people it’s very mild, and some people die. You just don’t know, it’s literally a roll of the dice.

“So, if anything I can just say please stay home.

“I’ve done it. It’s like 22 days now, and I’m actually cool. It’s all good.”
