Kate Moss's Lookalike Daughter Lila Raids Her Mom's Closet — But There's One Thing She Can't Steal

Daughters have been raiding their moms’ closets since … well, since closets were invented, most likely. And if your mom just so happens to be a supermodel and fashion icon whose closet is probably incredible, doesn’t that make the temptation even greater? Kate Moss’s 20-year-old daughter, Lila Moss, certainly thinks so. She admits to shopping her famous mom’s wardrobe and helping herself to her favorite fashion pieces, and we can’t say we blame her!

“I would copy her outfits consistently,” the younger Ms. Moss said in the most recent edition of Vogue‘s “Diary of a Model” series; dressing like her model mom, she revealed, consisted of a lot of black and gray and skinny jeans. “And now, I come out in my outfits and she’ll be like, ‘Oh my god I’m so jealous, you look so cute!’ and I’m like, ‘It’s all yours.

As far as what she raids the closet for currently, Lila told Vogue that she steals her mom’s bags the most (can you imagine having that kind of access?! Designer handbags for days!). But the one thing she is regrettably unable to steal? Shoes.

“I can’t steal her shoes, which is devastating,” she confessed. “She’s a size six and I’m a size five. It’s one of my biggest regrets.”

Though Lila may not be walking in her mom’s literal shoes — darn those tiny feet! — she’s definitely following in her footsteps, making a name for herself as a model in her own right (as Vogue followed her, she was getting ready for the Chloé fall 2023 ready-to-wear show). She admitted that she was a little nervous about two particular people in the audience: her mom, and her dad Jefferson Hack, founder of Dazed Media. “When I have my parents watching the show, I want to make them proud. But it’s also more pressure, I feel.”

Lila is definitely taking advantage of the fact that her mom is an actual supermodel, leaning into the advice that she has to offer. One of the things Kate Moss stresses most to her daughter when it comes to both clothes and makeup, according to Lila? Less is more. But she’s also keen on promoting something that you can’t snag in a store (or from your mom’s closet, as it were): “Her other biggest thing is just being kind to everyone … [to] be nice.” Which just goes to show — supermodel or not, everyone’s best accessory is a smile.
